In our premiere episode, we focus on youthful difference-makers taking part in empowerment campaigns like Allstate’s #THEYSAY project and the WE Movement. These kids are making a huge impact on communities all over the world, proving you’re never too young to change the world.
Through its Good Starts Young™ initiative, Allstate has empowered more than 1.7 million youths to donate 2.7 million service hours to more than 2.3 million organizations, and raised $3.8 million for charitable causes. From volunteering at hospitals to starting nonprofit organizations, youth today are making an impact on pressing social issues on a global scale.
The debut episode of Live Life Forward shares the stories of three youths who are making a difference in their communities and around the world – and proving that their generation is more than what “they say.” Two Allstate #THEYSAY Project youth stories will be included in each Live Life Forward show.
The Allstate Foundation is one of WE Charity’s largest U.S. partners, helping to bring WE Day events to tens of thousands of youth across the U.S. It also supports the yearlong WE Schools service-learning program available for free to students throughout the U.S., and partnered with WE to create the WE Volunteer Now campaign, which provides youth with the tools to plan and lead volunteer projects. Last year, more than 1 million youth took part in WE programs across the U.S., supporting WE’s vision of shifting the world from “me” to “we” by empowering all people to change the world.
Allstate’s #THEYSAY Project dispels negative youth stereotypes by showing how young people are the ultimate game changers for good – no matter what “they say.” The campaign encourages youth to join the online conversation to show how their generation are problem solvers – not problems to be solved – by sharing their stories via social media using #theysay. By sharing positive stories, youth are emboldened to “rise up” to the challenges facing their communities, harnessing the energy that comes from self-confidence and the belief that one person has the power to make a difference.
WE’s unique family of organizations empowers people to change the world—one action at a time. For over 20 years, Canadian brothers Craig and Marc Kielburger have been dedicated to change at home, abroad and within each and every one of us.
