Host of Live Life Forward

Beth Troutman

Emmy-winning TV Personality and Motivational Speaker

Beth has spent nearly 20 years in the TV industry both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. She has hosted local and nationally syndicated TV shows such as Right This Minute and made multiple appearances on The Today Show, Extra, Headline News, Good Day New York, LA & Chicago. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Beth earned a double degree in Political Science and Women’s Studies. Driven by a desire to change the images of women on TV, she headed to Los Angeles, where a cold-call led to a position for The West Wing. After four years on the show, she was asked to run for the U.S. House of Representatives, becoming the first woman to run for Congress in North Carolina’s 8th District at the age of 27.

Although she lost the election, Beth ran a close race and a televised debate prompted an offer to host the morning show FOX News Rising. In 2009, Beth landed a gig as host of the nationally televised show, The Balancing Act, on Lifetime Television. In 2011, she helped launch the nationally syndicated show Right This Minute. With Beth as lead host, Right This Minute became the top new syndicated show on TV. She left the show in 2015, returning to North Carolina to take care of her mother and become anchor of NBC-Charlotte’s evening news at that time. After her mother lost her battle to ovarian cancer, Beth went in search of a new purpose. That journey eventually led her to volunteering with a nonprofit on a mission in Haiti, providing aid to children at an orphanage and the community. She captured her time living there in a series of mini-documentaries, and recently won two Emmy® Awards for the work. Beth now travels the globe speaking to thousands about purpose, and hopes to spread love, compassion and kindness by sharing her story and listening to the stories of others.
